MT4 Chart: Chart Window Properties
Welcome to Lesson 11 of the Second Module at PROP365 Academy. This lesson explains how to access and customize the MT4 chart window properties to tailor your trading interface.
Accessing MT4 Chart Window Properties
You can open the chart window properties in two ways:
- Press F8 on your keyboard, or
- Right-click anywhere in the chart window and select Properties at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
Customizing Colors and Display
In the Color tab, you can change the color scheme of your chart elements to match your preference or improve visual clarity in MT4 Chart.
The Comment tab offers key customization options:
- Change the chart’s display type (e.g., bar, candlestick, or line chart).
- Adjust the scale of the chart.
- Enable or disable Chart Shift, which moves the chart to leave space on the right.
- Enable or disable Auto Scroll, which keeps the chart aligned with real-time price movements.
Important Display Features on MT4 Chart
The Display Adjustment section includes:
- OHLC indicator: Displays Open, High, Low, and Close prices for the selected time period directly on the chart.
- Ask line: A red line that shows the current ask price on the chart, helpful for precise entry or exit points.
Additional Options
- Show Object Descriptions: Tick this to display descriptions of objects attached to your chart.
- Use Reset to revert all settings to their default state if needed.
